TullAMORe

Every time I go to Tullamore, I remember how happy I was there. Last summer was something so special in my life... ♥ So last Friday I went back: I stayed with the volunteers and I visited Roberta as well. Part of her family was visiting her for a few days - I was particularly happy of seeing Lou again (if you don't remember, she is Roberta's sister who lives in UK and works for M&S). Roberta will always be my Irish mum.

Roberta ♥

Friday night means bingo in St. Mary's Youth Centre and it also meant meeting Bill again. We talked about las year and about the present and I also had time to talk to Ger, Suzanne and other workers.

Bingo is a very serious issue in St Mary's as you can see

Bill, the one who did possible my dream of coming to Ireland in 2014

After cleaning the mess, Karen , Lena - they are the volunteers - and I walked to the Round House and we went straight to bed because we were heading to Dublin next morning. I wanted to meet Laia but she was sick so what I did was walking around the city and buying some presents. Everytime I go to Dublin I think that it isn't the nicest city but it has a special charming that makes you wanna stay.

I love the atmosphere of this pub... THE pub!

I think I'm in love with St Stephen's Green Park ♥

Back in Tullamore, we just relaxed because the girls don't like party or hunging out much. I came back to Mountmellick on Sunday morning thanks to Tom.

Yesterday the house took back the routine because Michael and Michelle went back to work after their two weeks off. So Jack, Emma and I did what we were use to do on rainy days: pyjamas day watching tv and playing some games.

I love my salads :)

Today Emma spent the day on a friend's house in Portlaoise and Jack was at home with a friend too. They enjoyed playing X-box and watching TV. It was an easy day. And that's what has happenned to my life so far... I think the week will be quiet and I still have no idea of what I'll do on the weekend. We'll see!

Days at home

On Monday the family left to Cork. The four of them went to spent three days and two nights in a hotel. I stayed in Mountmellick with Lennon so I basically chilled out. I spent the first day in Portlaoise. I think it could be a nice place to live: it isn't as big as other cities and it isn't as tiny as Mountmellick, I enjoyed walking around and I did some shopping.

Tuesday was a disconnection day. I spent hours in bed and I went for a long walk with Lennon after dinner. Then, the best moment of the day was when I finally did Skype with my whole family: dad, mum, sister and - of course - ValerĂ³n. ♥

Wednesday was other quiet day. The Lith's came back home after lunch and the kids spent the afternoon playing with the neighbours. We had dinner all together  and then I spent some time playing games with Emma in my room.

Thursday was the chaos morning. Michael and Michelle bought a new bed and their old bed became mine, so the top floor of the house was full of pieces of furniture. Now I have a double bed just for me like I do in my hometown.

Final result... Nice, isn't it?

BTW, I've already been here one month. Time flies really fast! And it brings us to today, I'm going to Tullamore on the evening and I'll visit Bill and everyone in St. Mary's Youth Centre. Today is friday, so bingo night! I'll be back on Sunday with many pictures and stories to share with you. Take care!

Holidays

I’m back after 8 days in the South coast of Ireland.  I thought I would be in Wexford city but I wasn’t right: I was in County Wexford but in kind of a tourist area 5’ walking to the beach. Nice place, maybe too quiet for what I understand for holidays, but perfect for a family with children. Anyway, I spent a good time with the Lith’s.

The days before travelling were the same as usual: painting, some games, park, library, movies, Lennon… So it was quite the same routine that I was already used to it.

Happy that Emma loves puzzles as much as I do

Saturday morning, after packing everything, we started our journey. We had a problem with a wheel and Michael had to change the tyre before getting to our new house on the late afternoon. The house was nice and I could see the seaside from mi bedroom which was so relaxing and made me feel a little bit homesick. We went to the supermarket and then had dinner. We also watched a movie – ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ – before going to bed.

Sunday came with sunshine and after breakfast, we went to the beach. I wish I hadn’t gone because someone – a careless adult, because the beach was full of children – hit me hardly on my right leg with a circle boomerang and I got a huge and painful injury even if I was wearing long jeans. So I went back home, tried to clean the mess and fell sleep after – let’s be honest – a few tears. It hurt so much and I’ll have an ugly scar for my whole life… :(

Peaceful until...

 My Irish "tatoo" :/

The rest of the day was going to the park, supermarket again and we spent one hour in Duncannon where there wasn’t any special to see. Back home, we had dinner and watched ‘Nothing Hill’. Classic but it fits every day.

Monday was one the most boring days for me. My leg was all itchy and I was hoping for some more activity but it was calmer than ever. Breakfast, park, lunch, driving to New Ross – not visiting, just fixing the tyre, looking for a pharmacy and a ball for Jack and supermarket – and way back ‘home’ again. Dinner, park, ‘Cinderella’ and bed.

As you may have noticed, I didn’t have wifi during the whole week which is not a basic to live but it would have fixed my life in some way. At least, I had dozens of tv series episodes on my laptop and I read the book Michelle gave me as crazy – 500 pages in less than four days of a book in a language that it’s not my mother tongue. I think I did my best! –.

Tuesday was a nice day. It was raining but the family planned to go to the swimming pool in New Ross while I had time to walk around. The town wasn’t much nice but I had a great time. Back home, we went to the beach for a while and we also visited the Hook Lighthouse after dinner.

Wednesday was finally summer. The sun was shining on the sky during the whole day so we obviously spent all the time we could on the beach. Then just food, reading, park and we watched ‘The thief book’.

Thursday came again with rain – heavily this time – so we spent all day in the house. Jenga, domino, tv-series, book… Quiet day.

Jenga with Jack...

 ... and with Emma :___)

Friday was a sunny and windy day. Michelle and Michael went to New Ross because Michelle needed to go to the dentist and I spent some time on the park with Jack and Emma. Then, we went to visit the Hook Lighthouse and the view was stunning from the top. After that, we had a delicious ice-cream and ate Chinese food for dinner.

Happiness

Saturday morning we packed everything and said goodbye to Hookless Village. We didn’t come straight to Mountmellick: we went to Dublin because Michelle’s dad is in the hospital - he’s getting better now – and I went to the city centre for about two hours while they visited the family.

And it brings me to today, my first Sunday at home and there's nothing to do in Mountmellick. Who knows what next days will bring me!

New routine

Week days are almost the same thing: preparing breakfast and lunch, playing some games with Emma while Jack is playing videogames, watching a movie if it's raining outside, walking with Lennon... I spend most of the time at home. Reading, watching TV series, checking my social network...

I have to say that I thought I would do Skype more often because I'm bored moments but I'm being stronger than I suppossed I will be. I've talked to my boyfriend twice and to the two European volunteers I mentor in Spain just one time.

Last weekend I went to Tullamore. I spent some time on the shops - specially on the charity ones - and I walked around remembering many happy moments of summer 2014.

Then I went to visit Roberta to the Round House. I was so so sooo happy in that house... She introduced me to the new European volunteers - Rut went back to Spain one month and a half ago and Peter is currently living in London-. Karen is almost 27, she is Mexican and we connected since the first moment. Lena is 24, she is Russian and she is nice too. They had an appointment with Tom for the afternoon and invited me to join them - again Boora Parklands but always stunning!

Home sweet home...

Do you remember my room? It's as nice and cozy as always ♥

After that I was suppossed to come back to Mountmellick but Lena and Karen invited me to stay with them and Tom said he could drive me home on Sunday. What a nice people! So as you may imagine, Sunday morning meant Clara Market where I bought a beautiful dress for 2€. Bargains everywhere...

Back to the Round House, Roberta invited us for a piece of (my ♥) cake and we were chatting for a while. And my next step was coming back to Mountmellick with Tom. What a man, he's all heart!

Monday was a rainy day so Jack, Emma and I spent the day at home. It was one of those days when I have time to chill out and prepare my lunch properly... but I have to say that I'm definitely enjoy the food with the Lith's. Michelle is good at cooking. That day she cooked a delicious lasagna... Mmm!

 My everyday breakfast

Chicken salad is my typical lunch meal

Yesterday was a quiet day. Emma had a birthday party in Portlaoise and a friend came to pick her up at 11.30 am, so the rest of the day was easy peasy. And today... typical morning and another birthday party for Jack and Emma but this time in Mountmellick.

On Saturday we are going to Wexford for a week. Hope to be back with many pictures and things to share with you. Have a nice week!
